Contracts of Employment

UK / European law requires that every employee has a written statement of terms and conditions of employment (often referred to as the contract of employment) within 8 weeks of starting work.

Whilst the focus is often on the right of the employee to have a contract of employment, there is real advantage to the employer in providing a written statement of the contract terms. Employers can contract with individuals on a range of matters to ensure the employee works to and behaves in accordance with company rules:

•  Working time and holidays

•  Renumeration and benefits

•  Safety and quality standards

•  Disciplinary and grievance rules

•  Attendance

•  Confidentiality

•  Notice, gardening leave and restrictive covenants

Working with you, we will write an appropriate contract of employment so that you not only fulfil your legal obligations, but protect your business.

Contracts of employment are written to comply with UK law.
